The Center for Democratic and Environmental Rights is collaborating with the Sustainability Initiative and the Centre for Law & the Environment at the University of British Columbia to host the  “Towards Legal Recognition for Non-Human Relations” webinar and workshop series this fall and winter. 

On February 16, Mari Margil, Executive Director of the Center for Democratic and Environmental Rights, will be leading a full-day training on how to advance legal recognition for non-human relations through grassroots campaign strategies in local communities. This is an opportunity for individuals and organizations interested in implementing laws that respect and protect the rights of rivers, lakes, species, and ecosystems.

Location: University of British Columbia in Vancouver B.C, with limited space
