The Center for Democratic and Environmental Rights is collaborating with the Sustainability Initiative and the Centre for Law & the Environment at the University of British Columbia to host the “Towards Legal Recognition for Non-Human Relations” webinar series this fall and winter. 

Register today for this to learn about and engage on how to advance laws that respect and protect the rights of non-human beings including rivers, lakes, species, and ecosystems. 

This webinar will feature panelists Māori legal scholar Jacinta Ruru and Tŝilhqot’in filmmaker, writer, and photographer Trevor Mack, who will discuss the efforts of indigenous people to advance laws that respect and protect the ancestors and supernatural beings embodied in sacred places in Indigenous territories.
