Author, activist and entrepreneur, Judy Wicks is best known as founder of Philadelphia’s iconic White Dog Cafe in 1983, a pioneer in the local food movement.
Her current focus is All Together Now PA, which she founded in 2019, with a mission to unite urban and rural communities to build resilient, self-reliant regional economies to both mitigate and prepare for climate change, while increasing community wealth.
Judy runs the Circle of Aunts & Uncles, a micro loan fund for local entrepreneurs without access to family & friends stage capital, which she founded in 2015. Judy is also founder of the Sustainable Business Network of Philadelphia and cofounder of the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (BALLE) in 2001. She is author of Good Morning, Beautiful Business, published in 2013, which won a national gold medal for business leadership and has been translated into Chinese and Korean.
Judy's work has earned numerous local and national awards, including the James Beard Foundation Humanitarian of the Year Award, the International Association of Culinary Professionals Humanitarian Award, and the Sustain Philadelphia Lifetime Achievement Award.
